Welcome to YoFi (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. YoFi is built with an offline-first architecture: your financial records, transactions, account balances, and budget details are stored exclusively on your device in a local SQLite database. We do not operate external financial servers, cloud sync databases, or sell personal records.

This Privacy Policy outlines how information is handled when you use the YoFi mobile application and our website (yofi.dev).

1. Information We Collect & Store

We believe in strict data minimization. What is not collected cannot be compromised or exposed:

Local Financial Records: All financial entries you create—including account names, transactions, tags, categories, balances, and budgets—are stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. We do not have access to your ledger, nor do we host a copy on our servers.
Anonymous Diagnostics & Crash Telemetry: We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to detect software crashes, diagnostic stack traces, and anonymous aggregate app performance. These reports contain technical device identifiers (such as OS version and device model) and never include financial transactions, account numbers, or personal notes.
Push Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) is used to deliver localized alerts (such as recurring budget check-ins or subscription status updates) directly to your device.

2. How We Use Collected Telemetry

Any anonymous diagnostic data received is used exclusively to:

Monitor application uptime, identify regressions, and resolve software bugs.
Measure aggregated engagement with app features to guide product improvements.
Verify subscription entitlement status when validating in-app purchases.

We do not sell, rent, license, or exchange user data with third-party data brokers, advertising networks, or social media platforms.

3. Data Security & Storage

Because your financial data resides strictly on your physical device, the security of your ledger is tied directly to your hardware security:

Your records are safeguarded by your operating system's sandbox security model, hardware-backed file encryption, and your device passcode or biometric lock (Face ID, Touch ID, Fingerprint).
Any external network requests made by the app (e.g. updating fiat and cryptocurrency exchange rates or submitting crash logs) are strictly conducted over secure, encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.

4. Data Retention, Control & Deletion

You maintain complete ownership and control over your records at all times:

In-App Deletion: You can edit or permanently delete individual transactions, entire accounts, or wipe all application data via the settings menu at any time.
Device Removal: Uninstalling the YoFi mobile application completely erases all local application data, caches, and database files stored in the app's sandbox directory.

5. Third-Party Services

YoFi interacts with a minimal set of verified third-party service providers:

Google LLC (Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics): Used for anonymous technical diagnostics. Google maintains privacy practices under the Google Privacy Policy.
App Stores (Apple App Store & Google Play Store): Financial transactions for subscription purchases are handled securely by Apple or Google. We do not receive, store, or process your credit card numbers or payment credentials.
Public Rate APIs: YoFi fetches public foreign exchange and cryptocurrency market rates. These requests contain no user identifiers or account details.

6. Children's Privacy

YoFi is not intended for or directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.
